Success and Pitfalls of Bariatric Surgery

The research group ‘Nutrition & Metabolism Associated Diseases’ kindly invites you to the symposium “Success and Pitfalls of Bariatric Surgery” on Friday 30th of September 2022 from 9.30 AM until 14.30 PM at campus Gasthuisberg, Leuven. 

The symposium will focus on the benefits and complications of bariatric surgery, which are essential to understand for both research and clinical practice. A panel of (inter)national renowned speakers will cover the following topics (see poster):
•    Glycemic control and bariatric surgery
•    Gut feeling of obesity
•    Nutritional aspects of bariatric surgery
•    Polycystic ovarian syndrome and bariatric surgery
•    Psychological aspects of bariatric surgery
•    Reproductive outcomes of bariatric surgery

In addition to a great scientific and clinical program, the symposium will provide different opportunities to network during breaks, and poster sessions. We invite Ph.D. students, post-docs, and researchers to submit abstracts for poster presentation (deadline: 7 September 2022). All contributions related to clinical research, including topics outside the scope of the congress, are welcome. To submit your 300-word abstract, email it to: symposium.bariatrie@kuleuven.be.
